Hat Creek
Hat Creek is renowned for its fly-fishing and camping. It is located about 26 miles north of Lassen National Park and about 15 miles south of McArthur-Burney Falls. Some of the fisheries in the Hat Creek area include: Hat Creek, Crystal Lake Fish Hatchery, Crystal Lake, Baum Lake and Rising River Lake.
Other activities in Hat Creek also include hang gliding off the Hat Creek Rim, spelunking in the vast lava beds and the famous Subway Underground Caves, hiking either parts of the Pacific Crest Trail or in the Thousand Lakes Wilderness. It is the home to the Hat Creek Radio Observatory which is a cutting edge radio astronomy, satellite tracking and research service facility.
